Diploma+ Readiness Hour
At Annandale High School, we believe a successful graduate earns more than just a diploma—they leave with skills, credits, and/or personal strengths that equip them for life after high school. We call this philosophy: Diploma+.
A key component of this vision is our Readiness Period—a 25-minute, school-wide period each day devoted to personalized academic and life preparation. Flex Time - a 30 minute period when students can seek out their teachers for additional support as needed.
The Diploma+ Readiness Hour consists of two parts:
Readiness Period: Literacy and Readiness: Formerly Silent Sustained Reading: While aspects of our former program are kept into place, please read this course description to find out about the course overview, class structure, and increased flexibility for students designed to meet you where you are in your learning.
