Available to students in grades 11-12

Total Amount of Credits 12

Length of Time = Full Year

Requires Instructor/Counselor Approval

Students in our Work Experience Program through AHS/ALA may take their non-work experience required courses on-line provided the following agreements and expectations are met:

  1. ALA Online Students will attend a period of time during the first week of classes in-person for on-boarding. This will take place in our Focused Learning Area of the media center until they demonstrate proficiency in Edmentum software. Once students show they can both navigate the software and complete the coursework at the designed pace as set by Edmentum software, they will be allowed to complete work off-site upon the approval of the counselor or teacher of record.
  2. Students fully online will meet with their counselor at least 1 time per week for approximately 15 minutes for communication, and check-ins. This meeting will be done through Google Meet or through Edmentum software (depending on teacher expectations). These meetings will be scheduled by the counselor.
    • The counselor will coordinate to conduct meetings on a consistent day of the week.
    • The counselor may facilitate scheduling communication between students and their teacher of record.
    • Students are expected to attend meetings and must communicate conflicts promptly upon learning of them. Not attending meetings may result in removal from on-line learning privileges off-site.
  3. Students in work experience opting to take online classes will attend their work experience class live virtually on dates the teacher requires or as designated by the work experience teacher.
